Downtown Silver Spring’s new Beacon Market at 1200 East-West Highwayreturns this fall!

Re-opening Saturday September 14 and running every other Saturday, the market will operate from 10-4pm on the plaza fronting the popular boutique coffee and vinyl record shop Bump n’ Grind.

The Beacon Market takes its name from the iconic Ray King sculpture, East/West Beacon, located in the center of the market plaza at the intersection of Blair Mill Road and East-West Highway.

The market will feature a diverse mix of artists, crafters, vintage and collectible sellers, handcraft importers as well as other neighborhood-enhancing vendors such as a fresh fruit and produce farmer, specialty food vendors and local organizations tabling their information.  Local Montgomery County small businesses will be showcased. The market will be enhanced by Bump n’ Grind’s offerings of fresh roast coffee, locally made baked goods, sandwiches, treats and craft beers and wines, as well as live DJ performances, outdoor seating, and free Wi-Fi .

Beacon Market is supported in part by the Silver Spring Urban District as a means to affirm and grow local community economic development activities and enrich the Silver Spring Arts and Entertainment District. The SSUD also provides enhanced service throughout the District, ensuring a clean and safe environment for all. Services include ambassadorship, security, streetscape maintenance, walkways repairs, tree maintenance, and more. The SSUD also funds the Montgomery County Thanksgiving parade, Taste the World in Fenton Village, other community celebrations.

Market Manager Brady Rall will handle all requests, assignments and set up logistics.  Contact Brady@diversemarkets.net for questions and application information.
