NoMa Farmers Market is now accepting applications from quality food and farm businesses for a weekly Thursday evening market in Eckington DC. Opening May 4 and running every Thursday from 4 to 8PM through October 19, the market offers baked goods, coffee, preserves, prepared foods, pasture-raised meats & eggs, and locally grown fresh produce. 

The market is situated at Alethea Tanner Park, located at 227 Harry Thomas Way NE, opened in 2020, and features a host of amenities, including a large lawn, playground, dog park, gardens and a meadow, plaza areas, and a connection to the Metropolitan Branch Trail. The NoMa BID plans and hosts frequent and free special events for the community at the park, which are always well attended by the 13,000+ local neighbors who live in nearby rowhomes and apartment buildings and the 60,000+ workers whose offices are in NoMa.



LOCATION: Alethea Tanner Park in Eckington, DC, at 227 Harry Thomas Way NE.  Very near to Union Market and the New York Avenue intersection with Florida Ave.  There is plenty of residents in single family homes, new condos and apartments and the thriving Northeast neighborhood.  
 
PARTICIPANTS: This is a selected farmers market intended to feature a diverse array of food products.  Products of interest include: local farm produce, dairy, meats, and plants; baked goods; preserves & honey; oils & extracts; prepared foods & beverages with special consideration for breakfast items and fresh juice preparation; as well as non-food related items such as homeopathic bath & skin care items; candles and kitchen products. All farmers and prepared food vendors must have applicable licenses, insurance and farmers must have DC Dept. of Weights & Measures scale certification.  
 
SPACES:  10’x10’, 10’x20 double spaces and extended sizes are available.  All participants are expected to display their products in a professional and inviting way.  Individual signage is encouraged.  Tables should be covered.  Vendors supply their own tents, umbrellas, chairs and tables, and other display items.  Limited electricity is available on site.
 
FEES: Produce vendors:  $30- (10x20).  Producer made Food: $30- (10x10) per week. Season commitment discounted fees available (and preferred).
 
AMENITIES: Convenient loading and nearby street parking, market is on bricked plaza with adjacent seating and other amenities.  Postcards will be provided to advertise the market and extensive neighborhood and community promotions will occur. 
 
LOADING:  Vendors can unload adjacent to their space. Load-in hours are 2:30-3:30pm.  Load-out hours are 7:30-8:30pm. 
 
LICENSES: All prepared food vendors and non-grower produce vendors are required to have proper food handling licenses issued through DC Dept of Health (DOH).  Each vendor is responsible for collecting and reporting DC Sales Tax as appropriate, and must have a DC tax id number if reselling products.
