Farmers Market SW at The Wharf is now accepting applications from quality food and farm businesses for the weekly Saturday market in SW DC. Opening April 4 and running every Saturday from 9AM to 1PM through November 21, the market offers baked goods, coffee, jams/jellies, prepared foods, pasture-raised meats & eggs, and locally grown fresh produce.
Now entering its tenth market season, the market attracts hundreds of weekly shoppers from the surrounding community. This year the market relocates to a newly designed waterfront plaza at The Wharf. The rapidly growing area, newly completed apartment buildings, and new area amenities are adding density and cache-- and the market expects to grow in scale and popularity significantly this year. This neighborhood market already attracts families, young professionals and home-owning seniors in the area. The new location adds high income demographics from luxury condos, hotels, tourists and boaters. The market also goes above and beyond to offer support to low-income shoppers through various voucher programs and federal nutrition assistance.
PARTICIPANTS: This is a selected farmers market intended to feature a diverse array of food products. Products of interest include: local farm produce, dairy, meats, and plants; flowers; baked goods; preserves & honey; oils & extracts; prepared foods & beverages with special consideration for breakfast items and fresh juice preparation.
